“I believe in human equality, so I chose to live in the kibbutz”
Azaria Alon was one of the Society for Protection of the Nature founders. In 2012 he was awarded the Israel prize. Among the various topics in his collections, most of which are nature of the country and its landscapes, are presented in this exhibition a selection of desert and kibbutz photography.
Photography was part of his documentary and research work. As a guide of dozens of desert tours, Alon photographed the groups and hikers he led in the wilderness paths. Man as an individual and as part of a group against the primal elements of nature. Alon’s scrutiny examined the work and culture of Kibbutz Beit Hashita as a partner and observer.
